The Latin actress Salma Hayek is proud of her heritage, but she admits she has had great difficulty in Hollywood when she moved to America at the age of 22 years, as she does small roles harvested as a servant or prostitute.

She said: "There were no roles for Latina. It was very painful. People advised me to return to Mexico, to settle down and have children. I think they were sorry for me."

The actress added: "We do not offer me the roles that most people did, because they are blond and speak without an accent."

Recall that the first role of Salma Hayek was in the 1995 film Desperado , alongside Antonio Banderas. She also used money from her previous roles in order to finance the film Frida , which she produced and in which she played.

She says: "For 18 years I worked to prove myself and earn the respect as an actress, but the road was incredibly difficult. But with this, I learned to be director and producer. "

Also, Salma Hayek is featured in the animated film Puss in Boots , for which she lends her voice to the character of Kitty, again she works with Antonio Banderas.
