Titanic never seen photos

The Titanic was the greatest ocean liner of its time, launched on May 31, 1911. At 46,328 tons, the flagship of the White Star Line could carry more than 2,300 people including crew. It sank at 2:20 on the morning of April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic ocean.

These cranes were used to hoist the ship's wooden lifeboats over the side and into the water during the Titanic's sinking. Many of the boats launched soon after the sinking were not close to full because passengers refused to believe the seriousness of the situation.

A Marconi wireless telegram from the Olympic, Titanic's sister ship, reports the Carpathia's rush to the site where the Titanic went down. "Found boats and wreckage only," it says in part. "About 675 souls saved crew and passengers."
