Miley Cyrus update: Growing up too fast, Twilight, Justin Bieber and Taylor Momsen
Miley Cyrus continues to spark controversy as she shed her Hannah Montana persona to embrace a more sexual 17-year-old version. While Miley may be accused of growing up too fast, she differs from many teens her age and has announced that she does not like the hit book and movie series ‘Twilight.’ Speaking to MTV she expounded upon earlier reports where she once likened the Twilight Saga to a cult while speaking with Entertainment Weekly. When speaking to MTV she said this about Twilight, “"I'd rather keep the dead and revolting things like vampires and werewolves out of my life.”
As for her new CD, she’s met some stiff competition on the Billboard chart and has been beat by Justin Bieber. Can’t be Tamed fell back six spots while Justin Bieber’s My World 2.0 climbed up to number 6 this week. Justin Bieber has sold 41,000 copies and Miley has sold 32,000. She is currently at the number 9 spot.
There’s been a bit of negativity on the Miley Cyrus front and it isn’t all coming from disappointed moms of 7-year-olds who are wondering how to explain to their daughters that Hannah Montana will not be coming to their city to perform a concert and pray that their child never catches a glimpse of Miley on MTV.
Taylor Momsen, who auditioned for the role of Hannah Montana at the age of nine has some comments for Miley and her ride to fame on the Disney train. Speaking with FHM magazine, Taylor Momsen said, “I'm not looking to be Miley f**king Cyrus. I don't care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we'll go along for the ride.
I think the Disney bubblegum s**t that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression."
